PT 200 is a 6-quarter unit course consisting of 3-4 one-hour lectures or small group learning activities and 3-4 three-hour laboratories per week. Five units of the course are taught during the summer quarter, and one-half unit is taught in each of the Fall and Winter quarters. Students will use the laboratory time to complete a required dissection and to integrate lecture and small group material. Students will work in groups of 2-3 to dissect the cadaver, excluding the viscera. Students will use prosections, radiographs and models to review the head and the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic viscera. The later classes in PT 200A will be devoted to histology. Students will be expected to relate knowledge across the sub-disciplines of gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, developmental anatomy and applied anatomy.
