Welcome to PT 112B: Pediatrics!
You have learned about the theories of motor control and motor learning and have begun to see the applications to our everyday practice. We will build on your understanding of movement by focusing on how it develops, how it can be analyzed and how it is assessed in children. To support your clinical reasoning, we will emphasize interdisciplinary and psychosocial perspectives. We will enable you to develop your movement expertise as a foundation for future coursework in pediatric rehabilitation.
In general, upon successful completion of this course you will understand prenatal through adolescent development and be able to analyze and assess gross and fine motor movement including posture, movement patterns and musculoskeletal characteristics.
