- Assignment 3a: Briefly summarize the priorities of the institute you want to submit to (submit URL you found with this information) and call or e-mail the NIH Program Official (PO) to determine if topic is of interest (submit a copy of the e-mail or a brief summary of the phone conversation). Go to the web site of the NIH institute you want to contact, and look for their link to the contacts for Career Development and Training Awards. Often this is under their Grant Funding page. If you have not advanced to candidacy check in with PO to see if you can receive the award before you’ve advanced to candidacy. Turn in notes about the phone call or a copy of the e-mail chain.
