Hi everyone,
For those of you who are interested in obesity research, UCSF has a Center for Obesity Assessment, Study and Treatment (COAST) (http://www.chc.ucsf.edu/coast/index.html). There is an upcoming seminar called, "Is there any hope of reducing obesity?" on Tuesday, March 18th and a symposium about "Stress, Obesity and Pregnancy" on May 20th.
In the fall of 2012, we also had a seminar about different diet patterns (Paleo, low-carb, low-fat) as they relate to health, featuring Drs. Lynda Frassetto, Stephen Phinney, and Dean Ornish. You can find these in the "Videos" section of the website. Gary Taubes (the author of the NYT article) was in the audience and raised some interesting questions.
