I really enjoyed watching the presentations and am sorry to have missed being there in person. Below are my comments/questions for the presenters.
Katie Brown:
I think your application of the RWJ framework and plans to evaluate how structural racism contributes to disparities in abortion care is an excellent strategy. I also appreciate how you plan to approach the problem from both systems level and individual level. I’m interested to know if you have any plans for interventional research or if your primarily interested in identification and description.
Matthew Bucknor:
I agree with your thoughts about the importance of considering how your predictor variables may interact and how to best address this issue statistically. I’m curious to know how you think socioeconomic/demographic factors could influence the radiologist interpretation? Are radiologists aware of any these factors when making their impression on an imaging study? For example, do patients with names that suggest they are a minority get different impressions/recommendations from the radiologist?
Siena Duarte:
Did you consider doing a case control study, perhaps a case-cohort, and logistic regression to evaluate the association of various medications and SES factors with an outcome like mild cognitive impairment or dementia?
Curt Johanson:
I was curious if you were aware of any studies on the effect of provider race on successful initiation of PrEP in those groups where it is under utilized. Are clinics staffed by UIM providers more successful at getting minority patients on PrEP?
