Attached is a short article from JAMA about an article retracted today because the groups were coded 1 and 2 and the programmer recoded them 0 and 1 and in the wrong direction so the statistical analyses that was thought to favor the treatment was, in fact, in the opposite direction. Always spend some time looking at your data to ensure it is coded correctly.
