Hi All,
We wished to remind you that there is a Notation & Probability optional review lecture on the CLE, provided by Dr. Graff, for those who would like a refresher on statistics/probability notation. This is a ppt deck that is best viewed in slideshow mode, so you can see the animations. This is listed under Optional materials for the 1/23 session.
Please remember that there is typically an assigned chapter from RGL or the Hernan Causal Inference textbook or a methods article, to complement each week's material, and which should help with the HW assignment (this is in addition to the topical journal article). For this week, as noted in the HW and on the CLE, the material goes with Chapters 1-2 from the Causal Inference online text book by M. Hernan.
For Thursday, after the HW3 review, I will do a brief recap on how the material so far fits together, followed by the 4th part in the series on Person time and Bias. If time, we will start with an in-class exercise drawing on the material from Parts 1-3 on Person-time and Bias, so please watch the videos or review the slides before 1/30; live lecture Part 4 definitely builds on Parts 1-3. Please note, Part 1 may be more "review" of topics from EPI203 for some of you.
Best wishes,
JMC
