Very interesting problem. I hadn't really though of the implications on race in ICU care and outcomes. I imagine language barriers are certainly a part, but it would be interesting (and challenging) to try to explore how providers' beliefs and biases play into the differences in care as well.
I think your idea for an additional resource for patients with LEP is a great one. These patients and their families face such difficult moment to moment decisions--I can't imagine trying to make them without even being able to communicate clearly with the team. This sounds like it could be very impactful!
