In several of our labs, you'll be asked to asked to move files between CLE, your own computer, and MyResearch.

It's easy to move files between CLE and your own computer, as long as you're logged in to the CLE. Just use the upload/download links provided. (Note, though, that some uploads require confirmation. You must persist in clicking the various confirmation buttons until the CLE gives you a message that your upload has been submitted.)

There is no (official) way to move files directly between the CLE and MyResearch. This can be tiresome. In Lab 1, for example, you will have to move files from the CLE to your computer, then from your computer to MyResearch, so you can work on the file. When you're done, you make the same hops in the opposite direction to upload your revised file to the CLE.

To move files between your computer and MyResearch, use MyTransfer:

mytransfer.ucsf.edu

A folder has been set up for you within the MyResearch area for makohn_class. You should have been told which folder is yours in your welcome letter for MyResearch. If you don't know which folder is yours, or if you don't have access to that folder, contact Academic Research Systems for help:

its-arssupport@ucsf.edu

If you see files in your folder that aren't yours, don't delete them - somebody else might have saved them there by mistake. Let us know and we'll straighten it out.
