Super rich memo Nika and nice commentary on it. I think it's particularly impressive (a) that you stuck with it and read and re-read that paragraph even when it didn't make sense and (b) that you went back to resolve the issue by listening to the transcript. This happens _all_ _the_ _time_ in qualitative work, and it is actually nice to remind oneself that when it doubt go back to the source. The other thing I liked about this memo and responses is the genuine reaction to the provider. You self-reflection is very cool -- interesting issues about how you found the clinician's approach so maddening. Another thought is that it might suggest a new theoretical or conceptual approach to this issue. What are the broader implications of clinicians "selling" these methods rather than remaining value-neutral/non-judgemental in relation to patients' values and preferences?
