I agree...love how you've pulled out the quotable quotes and arranged these memos. In the long run -- after you've looked at lots of data over a period of time -- these kinds of tricks to highlight issues of interest or just make it easy to "re-find" data or thoughts end up being really valuable. Another way to approach this issue is to actually code memos so that they turn up when searching for codes. But there is something nice about the simple old school style of pulling out via formatting the memorable quotes or turn of phrase.
The formality v. informality is kind of a users' preference, imho.
