Thanks for this example. Did you think the Texas Policy Evaluation Project was convincing? Would it be possible to evaluate health outcomes for the moms? Diana Green's TurnAway project is the most convincing study design I've heard of, and she's able to evaluate health effects for the women seeking abortions and for those with other children, the effects on those kids.
This seems like a case where the policy is just one example of a whole host of policies intended to reduce abortion access and the key question is how access influences health. The outcomes of distance traveled and out of pocket expenses are not as compelling because they are not direct health outcomes.
