Hello, this is Sam Z., one of the TA's for this class. Three points that I think are important to remember when completing homeworks for this and other classes in the TICR program:
1) Please remember to include your STATA commands and STATA output in your homework. This includes copying and pasting everything STATA outputs (not just the p-value) into your homework. This is the statistical equivalent of "showing your work" that your math teacher bothered you about in high school. Include everything,
2) Please remember to present your work legibly. If you are presenting STATA output, it should be presented in the "Courier New" font or as a picture. To present STATA output as a picture, simply highlight the STATA output, right click, and select "copy as a picture". Then paste it into Word. Otherwise it kinda looks like Windings.
3) Please differentiate your answer from the question in some manner. It can be bolded. It can be highlighted. It can even be delivered by carrier pigeon or submitted via interpretive dance. But it should be a different dance or pigeon or font than the question is in.
One of the most important goals of this program is learning how to present your findings in clear and legible ways. Showing all of one's work is increasingly important in clinical research, particularly given the replicability crisis. And it's fun! Nothing makes me feel more accomplished than copy and pasting huge chunks of stata output into a report.
Thank you all so much, it's been really fun answering all your questions this quarter.
Best,
Sam Z.
