Very interesting study looking at bars in a neighborhood as a potential effect modifier for the relationship between cigarette smoking and lung cancer. I was wondering how you would choose the cut-off when dichotomizing the number of bars into two groups. The only problem with dichotomizing is potentially losing important information. Maybe looking at other studies that have conducted a similar study or a study that used number of bars as a variable could help?
