To all enrollees in Epiemiology 212 (Publishing & Presenting Clinical Research):
Just a quick reminder that the first assignment for this course is due by noon tomorrow (Tuesday, April 24). This a draft research abstract formatted according to the guidelines of a scientific/professional society meeting.
Please use the assignment template provided on the on-line syllabus and upload your assignment document directly onto the website using the link provided. Don't forget to include your first and last name in the name of the document, to ensure you get credit for your work.
We will provide feedback on this assignment over the next two weeks-- some of you who have already submitted your assignments may already have received feedback from me or Carolyn Gibson.
I also look forward to our second course session tomorrow that will address two topics-- preparing oral and poster research presentations, and drafting the introduction and methods sections of research manuscripts. Readings for these topics are indicated on the course syllabus.
Similar to our first session, we will take a look at examples of effective and ineffective presentation and manuscript materials. I encourage you to share your opinions on ways in which these examples could be strengthened in class!
