Course DirectorIsabel Elaine Allen, PhD is Professor of Biostatistics & Epidemiology and faculty member of the Global Brain Health Institute in the Memory & Aging Center at UCSF. She is also an advisor & mentor for Catalyst & QB3 at UCSF. She founded & led several biotechnology companies and continues to serve as a board member & advisor to several non-profits & biotechnology companies. She has published widely on statistical issues in meta-analysis, data science, survey research, & clinical research methodology. |
Teaching AssistantMoses Badio is a statistician and a second-year master’s student in the Clinical Research program. He is interested in emerging infectious diseases and is currently the Principal Investigator for the PREVAIL COVID-19 Observational study in Liberia (PCOS). He is anticipating an exciting semester with you all. |

Teaching AssistantLara Crystal-Ornelas is a Latina family physician in her 2nd year of fellowship in family planning. She is completing the MAS program as part of her fellowship and also does mixed methods research. She enjoys providing primary care at La Clinica in Oakland, California, and providing reproductive healthcare at Planned Parenthood & UCSF. During her free time, she is usually playing with her dog, listening/dancing to records, or riding bikes outside. She is ooking forward to working with you all! |

Teaching AssistantHanna Lambing is a second year Master’s student in the Clinical Research program and is most interested in developmental neuroscience research. Her current MAS project focuses on predicting four-year gross motor outcomes in children diagnosed with neonatal encephalopathy. She is also volunteering in Mercedes Paredes’ lab investigating neurogenesis in the human hippocampus. She is looking forward to a great quarter with you all! |

Teaching AssistantMichelle-Linh Nguyen is a general internist and research fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at UCSF. She is interested in how time is structured and allocated in outpatient care, with a special focus on primary care, which has broad implications for care, equity, cost, and workforce sustainability. She works clinically as a primary care physician at the Richard Fine People's Clinic at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. She is also a Patient Revolution Fellow (patientrevolution.org), a global fellowship of leaders focused on cultivating careful and kind health care. |

Teaching AssistantCarlos Henrique V. Moreira MD, PhD is a Brazilian Infectious Diseases physician, who has previously worked as a practitioner in ID-related settings (wards, outpatient, ED), and focused on Neglected Tropical Diseases. Now he's interested in biomarker research for Chagas Disease clinical and severity forms. He is currently in the 2nd year Master's Degree Program in Clinical and Epidemiologic Research and is eager to assist and learn together with you. |
