This course introduces the concepts, principles, and use of molecular and genetic methods in epidemiologic and clinical research. Specifically, students will learn about: common molecular and genetic measures; linkage and association approaches to searching for disease-causing genes, and their interaction with environmental factors; pharmacogenomics; and ethics in genetics. Ultimately, students will develop a framework for interpreting, assessing, and incorporating molecular and genetic measures in their area of research.
