    • In March 2020, in-person courses pivoted to online. At that time, faculty and students were reacting to the global pandemic and transitioning to continuing education remotely. Looking forward, we recognize that a Remote Teaching Toolkit is needed to help faculty prepare to continue offering courses online.

      • Course Design
      • Pre-Recording Lectures for Asynchronous viewing
      • Facilitating Zoom Sessions for Student Engagement
        • Digital Whiteboard Tools
        • Polling
        • Games
    • Use this template starting 8 weeks before your course start date.

      • Update the syllabus and content for your course
      • Update learning objectives as needed to ensure best practices for online delivery
      • Identify lecture materials or other media that can be pre-recorded as appropriate for course
      • Identify the need for live communication sessions (e.g., zoom sessions) in your course and plan asynchronous assignments and activities
      • Review and finalize course organization, calculating the time it takes to complete all readings, assignments, video lectures and zoom meetings

    • Delivering High-Quality Instruction Online in Response to COVID-19 is a faculty-focused playbook intended to improve course design, teaching, and learning in online environments. With special attention to the needs of instructors teaching online for the first time, the guide offers strategies for getting started and improving over time.
