There are many challenges in the discovery and development of novel products for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This course focuses on identifying and overcoming the challenges that occur during the translational path from the initial concept to a marketed product and patient benefit. The course is focused on the technologies and approaches utilized for the discovery and development of novel therapeutics and diagnostics and emphasizes case studies. The course will also cover the regulatory, intellectual property, financing, licensing, partnering, startup company formation, and other business and legal considerations of biomedical product development.
