Assignment Description

We have discussed our final project in the Week 1 Zoom session/recording and in the instructions posted in the CLE.

This week’s assignment is aimed to help you start creating your poster for your final course project. Submit both 1 and 2 listed below.

1. Create Slides 1-3 of your final project using the PowerPoint template and headings provided:

• Slide 1: Title of Initiative / Program (1 point—make it “catchy”!)
• Slide 2: Mission-Vision-Philosophy / Values Statements (2 points)
• Organizational / Leadership Structure (2 points)

AND

2. In a Word document, briefly outline or provide in bullet points or paragraph form your ideas for your Practice Initiative (5 points).

• Some ideas (these are just examples and PLEASE use your own creativity and areas to interest to develop this program or initiative!).
  • A nurse run clinic designed to help manage diabetes in the homeless population
  • Development of a clinical ladder or QI training program in a rural hospital
  • Development of a NP Residency program
  • A series of educational offerings for a targeted population in a clinic setting (either providers or patients)
  • School based health clinic for pregnant teenagers
  • Nutritional / exercise program and education for obese kids
  • Home care program for elderly

You could return to your idea used in N263.14 (QIPS) and approach that idea from the economic and organizational perspective. 

At this point you obviously don’t have to have firm plans for staffing, funding or budget but outline what you are considering. We’ll develop these areas over the next 4 weeks! 

Be realistic in what you can accomplish, staff, fund and spend to operationalize this initiative;  writing a $500K grant to fund your new building isn’t realistic; be creative but keep it real.  This assignment is designed to be a check in to be sure your projects are manageable and do-able!
