Why Focus on Hepatitis C?

  • There is no vaccine for hepatitis C

  • Hepatitis C becomes a chronic disease
    for up to 85 percent of those infected

  • Hepatitis C can lead to cirrhosis and
    liver cancer

  • Coinfection with hepatitis C and HIV is
    life-threatening and on the rise
