Hi all, welcome to BIOSTAT 213! I'm looking forward to meeting you all next week. I have 3 hopefully short requests for you all for the first day of class (Wednesday, January 16, at 1pm in Mission Hall 1407):
- Please watch the introductory video posted on the top of the Course Leaning Environment.
- Please download and install R and RStudio (instructions are in the video, and please feel free to email me if you have any questions or encounter any difficulties).
- Please read the article by Nick Thieme (available on the Course Learning Environment; link above). You may skip the box on page 19 if you wish. It is a fairly short article and the only "required" reading for the quarter (I do, however, offer suggested reading for each week). The article provides a brief history of R. I'm hoping to briefly discuss the article with you in class on the 16th.
