Greetings, Everyone!
Some people have wondered about the numbers in Problem 4.4, in which there were 101 subjects altogether, 64 included in the study and 33 excluded because they did not recall going over speed bumps. I also wondered if we had made a mistake and the 33 was supposed to be 37, so I consulted the paper and found the answer:
"We excluded four patients from diagnostic accuracy analysis: one because histology was not available, and three because they were treated with antibiotics as an alternative to surgery, so
diagnosis was not confirmed histologically."
Have a good weekend!
Tom
