Below is an email I received from Christina Vincent with Research Management Services regarding general timelines for F and K grant submissions in Spring and Summer 2021. Note, your deadline may differ, so please reach out to your RMS team to get a personalized timeline.

In general, the major deadlines are set as follows. While rare, I have had a few Ks with subs so I’m including those due dates.
Notify RSC of intent to submit: At least 30 days in advance (notify as soon as you know you’re going to apply)
Subcontract Documents Due (does not apply to Fs): 5 business days before administrative docs are due
Administrative Documents Due: 5 business days before the science docs due
Includes the following:
- Final Budget
- Final Budget Justification
- Biosketches
- Other Support
- Human Subjects Documents
Science Documents Due: 2 working days before submission date
Submit to Sponsor: 2 working days before deadline
Referee Letters: Due by 5pm on sponsor deadline. Uploaded to eRA Commons by referee.
Below are sample timelines for the requested submission deadlines. Note that sometimes we need to adjust timelines if we have several applications going in around the same time. In these cases, I will stagger the due dates to allow sufficient time for review and uploading of documents.
F Series April 8th
Notify RSC of intent to submit: 1st week in March or earlier
Admin Items Due: March 26
Science Due: April 2
Submit to Sponsor: April 6
Sponsor Deadline: April 8
K Series June 12th
Notify RSC of intent to submit: 1st week of May or earlier
Provide RSC with subcontract contact info: May 7
Subcontract Documents Due: May 25
Admin Items Due: June 1
Science Due: June 8
Submit to Sponsor: June 10
Sponsor Deadline: June 14 (12th falls on a Saturday so deadline is pushed to next business day)
