Using svyset with merged dataset

Using svyset with merged dataset

Hi,

I merged several years of one national survey (NAMCS), and am wondering whether I need to make any adjustments before using the svyset command?  The survey design variables are the same across years, but I'm not sure if I need to account for survey year before using svyset?

I'm also interested in combining this survey with a similar survey (NHAMCS-OPD), which has a similar design, collects similar information, and has the same survey design variables. Are there other adjustments I need to do before analyzing my data using svyset?

Thanks!

I believe that this is OK to do, but I'm not 100% sure.  Would be best to run it by a statistician before you publish!  (And fine to do this for the Final Project).

By the way, I think you mean "append" and not "merge".  Append is when you add additional observations (rows) to a dataset; merge is when you add additional variables/columns.
