Hi everyone!
My name is Mai (pronounced like the month of May) (she/her/hers)
I am a first year PhD student in the epidemiology department. I am a physician by training, I work as an nocturnist internist at Kaiser Permanente and during the day, I am a delivery science research fellow at KP Division of Research. I am interested in gastroenterology and hepatology and am seeking further subspecialty training at the moment. I have a number of projects I am working on mainly a small dataset of about 130 patients cirrhosis secondary to alcohol related liver disease who were transplanted at Stanford and determining risk factors for post transplant outcomes and the second is a large cohort of chronic hepatitis B patients who were discontinued off of treatment (for any reason) and determining the incidence of virologic and clinical relapse as well as examining variables/patient profiles that can predict future relapse.
I am super excited about learning how to use STATA better and getting to meet everyone!
I also have an 18 month old daughter who loves to join all my zoom sessions and has her own "keyboard" to imitate my typing as I type away at code. :)
