It was interesting to see that in the Ro article there were a number of seemingly counterintuitive findings: in 2000, obesity prevalence (both men and women) was lower for the groups least likely to immigrate than most likely to immigrate, but this trend reversed in 2012. Additionally, even though recent (<10 years) Mexican immigrants to the U.S. had lower obesity prevalence than the low likelihood to migrate groups, obesity prevalence in the immigrants increased quite substantially with time of residence.
