Hi all,
I went through and commented on the assignments submitted by people in Victoria's small group. I found that my comments to each person were similar. I then reviewed the assignments submitted by people in Christina's section and thought in general that the same comments applied. So i think most of you had some confusion about impact, outcome and process indicators.
Impact indicators reflect the overall intervention/program goals. Usually impact is things like improved health, improved quality of life, and/or reduced healthcare costs.
Outcome indicators reflect the intervention/program objectives. The objectives are either the behaviors you want to change (if you are developing an intervention) or the program components you want to implement (if you are seeking to adapt/implement a program developed elsewhere (such as ASP [Rachel] or CDU [Steve]).
Process indicators reflect whether the activities you propose to change behavior or facilitate program uptake are done and overcome the barriers they target. For example, if training is one of the activities, process indicators might include how many providers/patients attended the trainings and whether the training changed knowledge/attitudes/self-efficacy.
For those of you in Christina's small group, please review my comments to students in Vicky's small group. If you have specific questions you'd like me to review, please let me know.
