Unnecessary mastatectomy equivalents = Unnecessary Mastatectomies + 3*Mastate Cancer Deaths

Why did you multiply by 3? I am now looking at slide 56 and trying to calculate this.
I also wanted to ask about question 7.13 of the homework. When it asks about percentiles in the groups is that referring to whether we can determine the numbers of patients in each group?
