Does the final project have to be with course data sets? Or can we try it with our own data?
The expectation is that everyone will use a course dataset. We will consider use of own data on a case by case basis, but it is beyond the scope of what we can provide to guide individuals through their own projects (a very involved process that we do actually provide for in Biostat 209). If you want to try with your own project please discuss it with me on Monday after lecture. And if you do decide to use your own data you should try to get ahead early so that you can resort back to a course dataset if you come across major problems. I don't want to sound too negative, but I want you to be aware of the limitations of "going it alone".Cheers,John
