HI, all--
Email from a student:
QUESTION: RE: Question 10 c - I am having trouble understanding what the question is asking based on the wording. I keep coming back to it but still haven't been able to figure out what question I need to answer. It asks us to "provide 2 reasons why this comparison does not provide evidence against excess complications in the screened group".
I don't know if it's the double negative that's tripping me up ... is this asking us to say why there are fewer complications noted in the screening group?
ANSWER: The percent with complications cited in the question was lower in the screened group: 45% vs 52% with usual care. The question is why the comparison of those two numbers is not valid if you are interested in comparing the risk of complications in the two groups.
Does that help?
