A quick reminder about the midterm quiz this Friday starting at 1:30 pm. There will be 20 MCQ covering the first half of the course. Questions will be based on readings, lecture material and homeworks. Please make sure to be present in class.
Also, continuing on the theme of problems and pitfalls in observational research, I would like to recommend a new book by Geoffrey Kabat, epidemiologist at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, titled "Getting Risks Right." Dr. Kabat's first book "Hyping Health Risks - Environmental Hazards in Daily Life and the Science of Epidemiology" published in 2009 was very influential and raised a number of provocative questions about health research and which topics get more attention from the public and why. I highly recommend both books!
