I like your approach. One of the most difficult things on Earth is reaching a group of black men, and not enough of them are filling up the church pews. After reading your research topic, what about throwing a block-party/ celebration of life party? I think it would be a great counterweight to the violence in the neighborhood, everyone- men and women- show up for food and music, and it is bringing people to you instead of going to the people. I'm sure there are a lot of community organizations, churches and cease fire organizations that could promote and support this event. Having victims of trauma and the medical perspective of gun violence is a piece that is often missing from the story around gun violence.
I like events, but they aren't sustainable or measurable.
