The IOM report (2010) recommends increasing nursing expertise from bedside to boardroom, enhancing nursing’s role in teamwork and doubling the number of doctorally-prepared nurses by 2020. DNP is included in this doctoral target. As you embark on your DNP degree program, and we begin to build the foundation for your doctoral work we will focus on science and theoretical foundations for nursing practice.
In 2-3 substantive paragraphs, address the following questions;
- What are your prior perceptions of theory?
- How do you see theory shaping your current and future practice and scholarly work?
- What do you see as barriers and facilitators?
Primary Post
- Submit your primary post by Thursday 4/11 11:59 PM (PDT). Your post should address all of the questions, and should be no less than 200 words and include at least one reference. For this week you may use references provided to you to support your postings.
Secondary Posts
- Respond to at least two other primary posts by Sunday 4/14 11:59 PM (PDT). Responses should be no less than 100 words in length. While it is not required to provide a supportive reference citation for your secondary posts, it is strongly encouraged.
