I thought this article was really interesting.  The author expresses an inherent frustration with epi studies and often their lack of translation.  It is a bit of a rant but I can relate as it is difficult to make head to tail of a lot of the studies that are coming out.

Interesting article Ruby! 

I especially like the last sentence "So while it's interesting to hear that women are less likely to die of heart disease if they have a partner, no one's going to go out to find one in order to have a marginally better chance of making it to old age"

 

It potentially speaks to the publics desire for predictors that can be intervened upon. 

Its a scary reminder that the when overwhelmed by data, the media and public may lose their trust of epidemiology!
