Well thought out and clear assignment. I agree with cultural barriers that you will face with providers. I wonder if there are any incentive to adopting this patient centered practice like Ralph commented on above. Is there a way in the system to get some sort of reimbursement for the extra time this might take? Reimbursement for time (i spent X minutes face to face with patient, x amount of which was spent on treatment plan) etc that the attending could sign after the resident or NP puts the pre-op H&P in? Not sure what the system allows... just some thoughts.
