Hi all,
Great job with the homework and your participation today in class!
I am attaching the aneurysm decision tree TreeAge file we created. Once you roll back the tree (the beachball icon), the expected values are displayed on the tree itself.
I was confused as to why the No Surgery was outputting as an expected utility of 1.00 - this was due to a settings issue for significant digits.
If you go to Tree --> Tree Preferences --> Numeric Formatting --> Change the Decimal Places to 4. Then the No Surgery strategy has an expected utility of 0.9961 and the Clipping strategy has an expected utility of 0.9148, like we calculated in class.
The branch of the strategy with the highest utility (in this case, No Surgery) is displayed in green.
