I posted a revised version of the Markov template today (attached here too). I corrected the formula errors that showed different distributions by disease stare in the testing and the no testing arms in the “Syphilis T&T” tree sheet. The benefit of the screening is reflected in the efficacy (Cell H6) in the “Markov T&T” sheet. The reduced misclassification of patients in the testing arm compared with no testing, would be reflected in earlier intervention, and thus reduced average rates of disease progression. However, in the template, efficacy is not linked directly to the test performance estimates of column D in the “Syphilis T&T tree”. That is because this is meant to be a generic Markov template, and not tied to syphilis testing, and not necessarily to a testing regimen of any kind.
