To follow up on Anusha's discussion of structural racism, attached is a paper using contextual, state-level variables to investigate the effect of measures of structural racism on birth outcomes. One aspect of the analysis specifically relevant to today's presentation is the use of multivariable analysis to control for confounding of the association between racial inequities in unemployment and birth outcomes by overall unemployment.
