Final project question

Final project question

Unfortunately I do not yet have access to the data set that I will be doing my fellows work on as such I created a mini/fake project with some NHANES data.  Based on my personal experience as a pediatrician I thought that infants who were lower birthweight but otherwise healthy would later have higher BMI (these parents tend to overfeed and my two biggest kids in continuity clinic as a resident were premies).  In any event, I spent a lot of time cleaning the data and doing the table 1 but when I went to do the analysis and produce a figure it does not appear as if there is really any difference between the two groups.  At least not graphically.  Is it ok to have a negative result for the purpose of this assignment?  Or should I re-think the project and find something where there is a big difference and make a graph out of that?

Thanks for your help.

Danielle,

Negative results are just fine.  It is perfectly acceptable to have negative data for this project.  Just make sure that you convey this data in your figures.  We won't punish you for telling the truth!
