I enjoyed reading both of the papers this week. Like others, unfortunately, the results were not surprising. 

I would be interested to know whether the results from the Jones analyses would vary if they conducted a similar analysis with racial/ethnic composition of employees and air pollution at places of employment, as that is another major place of air pollution of exposure. I imagine the findings would be similar.

I agree, these are very interesting results, although not surprising. It was very interesting to see how ICE: race/ethnicity + income showed a greater difference between Q1 and Q5 in fatal assault rate ratios. Although it was expected it was very surprising to see the magnitude of difference compared to other measures.
