I thought the Montgomery article was a nice outgrowth of our previous discussion about segregation. It's interesting to think about how their results might apply across time. It seems likely that households that become more affluent may eventually decide to move to higher-income neighborhoods, which would reduce the socio-economic heterogeneity within a given neighborhood. I wonder if the relationships to health outcomes that they capture could have to do with a particular snapshot of neighborhood change in time.
