Protocol question

Protocol question

The instructions say: :"The final/complete protocol should not exceed 5 double-spaced pages (including cover page & references), 1 inch margin on all sides, font: 11 Calibri/ Arial. You should use at least 5-7  references including existing systematic review on your topic of interest that you are for example updating or expanding."

Does this mean that one of the pages must be a cover page? If so, are there any other specifics that must be included in the cover page?

Hi! Tacking on a question here: the assignment post also states there is a template that will be provided that we can use as a guide but I don't see one. Is that available? Thanks!

Dear Lauren,

Thank you for your excellent question! The assignment instructions are under each module's "assignment," which should also contain the template. To help everyone find the documents, however, I have also created a folder labeled "Assignments" under "General Course Resources" so that everything is in one place about the assignments. I have also attached the files to this reply.

Please note that there is a "Peer Assignments" spreadsheet. Each line is a group. For example, your partner would be Emily Cedarbaum. The reason this spreadsheet is here is that when you email us the file, you will need to email your partner as well: "Note: Please send a copy of your protocol (assignment #1) to your peer reviewer on the same day that you submit to us." There will be one group that has three peers since we have an odd number of students in the class.

Thank you for your questions! I appreciate everyone's patience as we update the files for this class. As previously mentioned, this is a revamped class (with new course materials). We welcome any feedback and would like to make this is an educational experience for you.

Thanks again,
Mazie

Edit to add: I adjusted the peer assignments to reflect an updated class roster.

Dear Melanie,

Thank you for your excellent question! Under General Resources, there are sample protocols that have a cover page. These are longer protocols that were published, so please note that yours can be shorter and less detailed than the ones that were uploaded. These sample protocols are meant to serve as a guide. I will update this message with any additional details about the protocol.

Thank you for your patience,
Mazie

Edit to add: What should go on the cover page: Title, Full Name, Course Name (Optional)
We can modify the page limit to 5-6 pages in case you need an additional page for your protocol.
Please note that the sample protocols are more comprehensive than the homework. This is because students are expected to use class slides, book chapters, and sample protocols (or any other protocol that they can obtain from PROSPERO or other sources) as a general guide to get ideas about how protocols are written.
