I created the do file specified, placed it in the Documents folder (also tried this using my student folder) and tried the log using "Lab2_WeissR.smcl" command, but keep getting this error:
. log using "Lab2_WeissR.smcl"
file C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata13\Lab2_WeissR.smcl could
not be opened

Actually, it worked if I did:
log using "M:\stu_67\BOISTAT212\Lab2_WeissR.smcl"
Is this because its a shared MyResearch drive?
If you are using MyResearch, you are accessing Stata in a virtual environment. So your pathname should be specific to that environment however it exists on your machine. You will then have to transfer you .smcl file to your hard drive on your machine if you want it on your computer (to send it in or email it, for example).
