Question 1 HW#$

HiĀ

Would like to clarify on question 1 of HW set#4 that reads as follows:

"Describe a case-only cross-sectional study and make examples when this study design is appropriate. Describe internal and external validity of this study design."

Is the use of "case-only" and "cross-sectional" intended to be one and the same design, reading the rest of the question it appears so. However conceptualizing both appears a bit of a stretch. Just want to be sure it was intended that way.

Thanks.

Nelson

Hi Nelson,

Yes, this phrase refers to one and the same study design.

Please remember what we discussed during the seminar last Friday: Before attempting to do the homework, please read all articles posted in the section called "Discussion section readings and homework assignments." We want to make sure that students do the required readings from the textbook as well as assigned journal articles, and that's why we ask homework questions based on them!

Hint-hint: This study design in discussed in one of the four assigned articles!

Good night,

Lydia
