Hi Angelo,

As you said in your analysis, the issue involves many aspects (patients, providers, system). It seems like the CFIR framework would give you a comprehensive appraisal of the issue.

I wasn't clear what conclusion you drew from the analysis. I can see your intervention covering all the aspects mentioned, but that might be too big of a project to handle at once. Maybe breaking down and prioritizing. Maybe starting with the system level: why aren't individuals covered? Will having an insurance coverage make individuals more likely to have a PCP, therefore more likely to be screened? At patient level: Are they informed about screening? Are they educated on the consequence of undiagnozed and untreated conditions? What would motivate them to get routine screening and seek treatment? At the providers level: It seems like implementing strict guidelines might be a start. less invasive testing maybe?

Hi Asa,

I am not quite sure what your overall "diagnosis" is of this gap you have identified. You provide a lot of interesting supporting evidence and information but it does not seem to be focused in one particular area. I highly suggest trying to have a more detailed DAG with the population/community/area/gap you are trying to address and the desired outcome you wish to get from your potential intervention. There are many different options you can address for your gap. Happy to discuss more in our section or via email. I think overall this needs more specific focus so that you can develop a meaningful intervention that will be more detailed in terms of addressing your gap.

Angelo,

I really like your topic. You've done a great job discussing possible etiologies for the gap of STI testing. However, for this assignment I don't really see which area you are planning for focus on? As Kadiatou mentioned, trying to touch on all of the possible areas of intervention would be difficult, but more focused intervention feels totally doable. Which of the three possible interventions (you mention from the review article) do you feel like is the most feasible, or would make the greatest impact?
