1. What is Person-Centered Decision Making?

Person-Centered Decision Making is often referred to as a meeting between experts. Do you agree with this statement? What do you know about PCDM and how would you describe it?

There are a variety of definitions of PCDM. For example, some people relate it to concepts like patient/person-centered, informed decision making, enhanced autonomy, mutual participation (2).

We think this definition sums it up well:

"Shared decision making (person-centered decision making) is a collaborative process that allows patients and their providers to make healthcare decisions together, taking into account the best scientific evidence available, as well as the patient’s values and preferences."
