Interprofessional Psychiatric Journal Club
Section outline
-

Hello there! You've come to the right place! Are you interested in meeting your colleagues across the campus who are interested in mental health, psychopharmacology, and more? We know that the future of mental health care is interprofessional, team-based care, yet many students still graduate without having a single professional relationship with students of another school on the UCSF campus. We aim to change that!
This journal club is OPEN TO ALL UCSF STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS.
Please take a look at the posted article for the next meeting and join us on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 5:10-6pm to talk about research in mental health. We meet entirely online using Zoom, making participation incredibly simple. Also, sessions are recorded and posted, usually within one week, so you can go back and watch them later for deeper understanding.
We strongly encourage keeping the discussion going after the club. Please check out the discussion forum and contribute your thoughts!
The club requires student leadership - please contact Seth Gomez (seth.gomez@acgov.org) if you would like to help lead the group.
This club receives support and facilitation from psychiatric clinical pharmacist Seth Gomez, PharmD, BCPP, in collaboration with the UCSF School of Nursing (Chelsea Landolin and Rosalind De Lisser), UCSF School of Pharmacy (Patrick Finley), and community partners Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and Bonita House. We received seed funding and technical support for this program from the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education. This is part of the Dyad Training Program, an interprofessional training program that is currently enrolling psychiatric nurse practitioner students and pharmacy students and residents in an intensive experience in mental health clinical practice.
