Why Does Publishing and Presenting Matter?

How is Publishing and Presenting Linked to the Question You Ask?

How should an abstract be presented?

    Faculty:  Vinay Prasad MD MPH

This session will focus on why the delivery of science is vital in the modern media environment. Thinking about the delivery of the product can shape even the question, design or conduct of the study.  How can scientific presentation continue to retain relevance in a world where attention is the commodity, and there are powerful forces that seek to capture it.

In the second portion of the lecture, we will discuss preparing structured abstracts for scientific conferences. How do you write and create a research abstract?  Under what circumstances should you send your project to conference? Is it worth your time? What are the tradeoffs?
