Hi all,
Please find attached my assignment.
Dear Kadi, I really like your interview guide! I was wondering whether the first question really aims at assessing the physicians' capability of ACE screening? I think that in the way you framed your question, the answers might rather tell you something about the confidence of physicians concerning the ACE screening rather their objective capability. Maybe the second part of your second question gets a bit more at the capability/knowledge component?
Hi - nice work. So the questions will get at a broad range of issues but I guess if we hone the questions with the constructs of your framework with more sharpness you might be able to get the most out of these frameworks. For example, your first question actually seems to me to get at all three: capability, motivation and opportunity.
How do you feel about screening for ACEs and discussing responses with patients after attending the PAS workshop and receiving continuous support from the Center for Youth Wellness? Has there been any difference between now and before the PAS intervention?
If you wanted to focus this question a little bit more on capability you could, for example, say:
How do you feel about *your ability* to carry out screening for ACEs and discussing responses with patients after attending the PAS workshop and receiving continuous support from the Center for Youth Wellness? Has there been any difference between now and before the PAS intervention?
Hi Kadi,
Building on what Elvin and Christine have said about the first question, assuming this question would have asked after they've had time to clinically apply the skills learned in the PAS workshop, it might be interesting to ask about a specific instance; for example, "Can you tell about time where you were able to use new skills you learned in the PAS workshop to facilitate care for a patient?"
For the third question, I'm not sure what you mean by "community of advocates." It seems like you're assuming they've bought into ACE screening, which may not be the case.
Hi Kadi,
Just playing devil's advocate here but you may want to consider questions geared towards those who did not uptake PAS or those who have had a hard time implementing it and ultimately have decided to not incorporate this. This may answer more questions and yield more specific answers to better assess your intervention. I think rewording some of these questions so you can get the full story from those who love and use PAS all the time while also capturing those who have had more challenges or have decided to discontinue with PAS would be much more meaningful. Well done though overall!
Great, clear, directed guide. I'm wondering though, is there enough room for open ended-responses. For instance, in the motivation section, why is this only prompting to discuss being part of a community as a motivator. Could there be an open-ended question just about what motivates you... Overall, though, since you're in the midst of implementing this already, then it'll be exciting to see what your respondents say.
